15) The Beginning of the End

Teams: Appalachian State 34, Michigan 32
Date: September 1st, 2007

What became known as the beginning of the end for Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr. Michigan was ranked #5 entering the 2007 season. The opened up their season against the FCS Appalachian State. The Wolverines scheduled them thinking they would be an easy tune-up. Instead, the Mountaineers pulled off one of the biggest upsets in college football history. Blocking a Michigan field goal with six seconds left in the “Big House.”
