10-T) Xavier McDaniel

Teams: Seattle Supersonics, Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, New Jersey Nets
Years: 1985-98

Xavier McDaniel was known, uncreatively, as the X-Man throughout his career. His career started with the Seattle Supersonics, where he first began to cultivate his image as an NBA tough man.

After breaking into the league as a tough man in Seattle, McDaniels took it to the next level during his time with the Knicks. The X-Man used New York’s rivalry with the Bulls to attempt to intimidate the likes of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.

Most notably McDaniels challenged the league’s toughest player, Charles Oakley, during the 1989 Eastern Conference Playoffs. Not backing down from Oakley or any other player in the league put the rest of the league on notice. McDaniels isn’t afraid of anybody, but plenty of people were intimidated by him.
