Lee Roy Selmon had a short, but sweet career. Despite only playing eight seasons no one doubts who good he was on the field. You have to give Selmon even more respect for having to play on a hapless Buccaneers team.

In only eight years, Selmon became Tampa Bays all-time sacks leader with 78.5. That goes nicely with his 380 quarterbacks pressures, 28.5 forced fumbles and 742 tackles.

In 1979, Selmon’s career was at its pinnacle,. A season where he was named NFL Defensive Lineman and NFL Defensive Player of the Year. That wasn’t the only season Selmon excelled, he was also voted to six Pro Bowls and was a five time All-Pro. In 1995, Tampa Bay great’s career was capped off by an induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
