Andre Tippett was one of the most vicious hitters in NFL history, who could rush the passer like no other. When Patriots’ outside linebacker hit somebody you held your breath and hoped for the best.

After being drafted by New England, Tippet came into his own in his third season. Generating 18  sacks his junior season and followed that up with 16.5 sacks the next year. While in his prime, this big hitter also helped the Patriots reach the Super Bowl in 1985.

Tippett’s hits would devastate opposing players. Unfortunately for this Patriots great, his career was also affected by those violent collisions. After his 4th year, Tippet was plagued by injuries and his production slipped tremendously. Despite his injury issues, this defensive great is still considered one of the best Patriots of all time.
