Before NFL football became the premier sport in North America, college football had been around for decades. Rivalries date back to before 1900 and are draped in history and tradition. College football’s longevity has established deep rooted rivalries involving immensely passionate alumni.

People are deeply passionate about the school which they attended but rivalries go beyond just alumni. Rivalries where the teams share a state or a close proximity cause whole regions to become passionate about college football programs and games. There isn’t another sport in North America that embodies such emotion as college football. The passion of the fans is due to regional pride to the love of their university. No matter their reason for loving the school, it causes there to be no better atmosphere than a college football rivalry.
